The Nikon D3 is their top-of-the-line digital SLR as of it's release in November 2007.  The new FX-format CMOS image sensor is 36mm x 23.9mm and captures 12.1 megapixels.  It's actually compatible with three formats, the FX, "5:4" (30mm x 24mm) and DX (24mm x 16mm).  Sensitivity can be selected from ISO 200 all the way up to ISO 6400.  I can handle talking up to 9 fps (frames per second) in the FX format (and up to 11fps in DX). 

 

It has two CF card slots to increase capacity between "swap outs".  The monitor measures 3" diagonally and has 920,000 pixels of its own.
